ABOUT OUR CAMPS

Learning with fun & methodology

Camp image 1

With over four years of experience sewing with children, we, Iris and Simona, guide young talents through a creative week of holiday activities. At kids-sewing-camps, we believe that we can foster creativity while also having fun.

As experienced camp leaders, we create a safe and inspiring environment where children can discover their creative potential. We are happy to share our knowledge, but we deliberately do not offer formal schooling.

With new knowledge and skills, and with great pride, the children present their self-sewn unique items at a fashion show in front of an audience at the end of the holiday camp week.

READY FOR A CREATIVE ADVENTURE?

To ensure individual attention for each child, camps are limited to 9 places. Book your child's place now.

Does my child need any prior knowledge?

Our camps work even without prior experience. Every child receives an introduction to the sewing machine on the first day and is supported throughout the week according to their skill level.

How will I be informed before and during the Champ?

Two weeks before camp, we send an email with the most important information. The day before camp (usually Sunday), the course leader will contact you via WhatsApp. All further communication will take place via WhatsApp.

How does the pick-up service work?

Depending on the course location, a meeting point will be determined in advance. For the booked additional service "Accompanied Travel," children must bring valid public transport tickets. The flat fee of CHF 50 applies to the entire week. Partial refunds are not possible.

How many items of clothing are the children allowed to sew?

The course includes up to 2 meters of fabric from the current collection. Each child may sew two garments; accessories can be made from fabric scraps. To encourage creativity, children are welcome to use fabric from the scrap box.

What do the children need to bring?

A packed lunch, a water bottle and, if desired, slippers with hard soles.

How long does the course or camp last?

The on-site course usually takes place from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Pick-up at the meeting point is generally at 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM. The exact times are specified in the course description.

My child gets sick before or during the course.

A refund (even a partial one) is not possible; see our terms and conditions. We recommend taking out appropriate insurance.

How is lunch arranged / what about allergies?

To avoid food waste, each child brings their own lunch. We provide a small morning and afternoon snack. A microwave is also available. The lunch break lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes. For safety reasons, parents of children with allergies must discuss this with us in advance.

How many hours per day are spent sewing?

The sewing project takes approximately 4-5 hours to complete. No sewing takes place during the 1¼-hour lunch break. During this time, the children may play outside under the supervision of the instructors.

Handling of electronic devices

During camp, all mobile phones will be kept separate. Children are allowed to use their phones during the lunch break – however, we would be delighted if they preferred to spend their free time playing outside.
